Siglo Profile
Siglo was established in 1986 by president and producer YAMAGAMI Tetsujiro as an independent film production company. The company’s primary business is the planning and production of documentary and feature films for theatrical release. Siglo produces 2-3 films annually, many of which it also promotes and distributes independently. The company also purchases Japanese rights to a limited number of foreign films. While continuing to focus on productions originating in Japan, Siglo plans to actively pursue coproductions with foreign companies as well as collaborations with foreign directors. It is interested less in big-budget entertainment projects than in films with quality content and clear directorial character. Siglo has produced a total of more than 80 feature and documentary films, many of which have won awards at international film festivals.
