Masato KOIKE

Born in Manchuria in 1944, Koike graduated from Chuo University in 1967. He was affiliated with the Newspaper Research Institute at the University of Tokyo for three years, where he worked under Professor Hidaka Rokuro. He then studied documentary filmmaking as an assistant director to Tsuchimoto Noriaki, making his directorial debut with “Suffering from Medicine: Chloroquine Retinopathy” in 1980.
